FOKUS Upsets Aurora, Eliminates Them from BLAST Bounty

FOKUS beat Aurora 2-1 in round one of the BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2 online bracket, taking the Dust2 decider 13-4 and ending Aurora’s bid to reach a Malta LAN together.
FOKUS eliminated Aurora in the opening round of the online BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2, winning the series 2-1. FOKUS took Cache 13-11, Aurora won Nuke 13-7, and FOKUS closed the match on Dust2 with a 13-4 decider.
On Cache, Aurora opened 5-0 on the CT side before FOKUS answered with six straight rounds to level the half. The map stayed close; with the score 8-9 in FOKUS’ favor, Jacob ‘jocab’ Nerheden posted a three-kill round to tie. Later he opened a round by taking down Ismailcan ‘XANTARES’ Dörtkardeş and Özgür ‘woxic’ Eker to shift a 3v3, and Mateo ‘Matheos’ Prišlin followed with back-to-back opening kills to help secure a 13-11 map win for FOKUS.
Nuke was won by Aurora. The team reached a 6-6 halftime score on the T side and then surrendered one round in the defensive half to close Nuke 13-7. Ismailcan ‘XANTARES’ Dörtkardeş posted a 1.55 rating on Nuke, and Ali ‘Wicadia’ Haydar Yalçın posted a 1.45 on the map as the pair led Aurora’s attack.
Dust2 opened strongly for FOKUS, who ran out to a 7-0 lead. Paavo ‘podi’ Heiskanen recorded a 1v2 smoke defuse during the run. FOKUS reached double digits before halftime; Aurora won two rounds after the switch and FOKUS finished the map 13-4.
Matias ‘Banjo’ Kivistö was FOKUS’ highest-rated player across the series with a 1.15 rating, 42 kills and 72.1 average damage per round. Mateo ‘Matheos’ Prišlin had 47 kills and a 75.3 ADR. For Aurora, Ali ‘Wicadia’ Haydar Yalçın posted a 1.18 series rating with 47 kills and a 79.3 ADR, while Ismailcan ‘XANTARES’ Dörtkardeş had a 1.05 overall rating and an 81.3 ADR.
Aurora arrived at BLAST Bounty after two wins in the StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 Europe Closed Qualifier against K27 and Nemesis; the loss to FOKUS is their first since forming the current international lineup. FOKUS had previously lost 1-2 to Astralis in the same StarLadder qualifier and registered their first win with recent additions Paavo ‘podi’ Heiskanen and Jacob ‘jocab’ Nerheden, advancing to the next round of the BLAST Bounty online bracket.
Aurora’s roster will regroup after the defeat and will no longer be able to use this tournament as a path to their planned first LAN appearance together in Malta.
