Gustavo “tge” Motta named BESTIA head coach

Gustavo “tge” Motta has been named head coach of BESTIA’s Counter-Strike squad; Afonso “shaRpy” Bastos returns to an assistant coach role.
BESTIA announced Gustavo “tge” Motta as head coach of its Counter-Strike squad, with Afonso “shaRpy” Bastos moving back to an assistant coach role. The announcement follows mixed results for the team early in the season.
tge had been without a position since leaving RED Canids in July, after that organization benched its roster and made players available for transfer. While at RED Canids, he coached the team at the StarLadder Budapest Major and IEM Rio 2026.
Before joining RED Canids, tge coached 9z and led them to a semifinal appearance at IEM Dallas 2024.
BESTIA retained Tomas “tomaszin” Corna in the offseason despite transfer links to Legacy. The active roster now lists Tomas “tomaszin” Corna, Cássio “cass1n” Santos, Nicolás “buda” Kramer, Ignacio “nacho” Rodriguez and Cristhian “timo” Perez, supported by head coach Gustavo “tge” Motta and assistant coach Afonso “shaRpy” Bastos.
On recent results, BESTIA lost to Sharks in the semifinals of the South American qualifier for BLAST Open Porto and finished second to Imperial at the Thunderpick World Championship 2026 South America Series 2. The club did not provide details on tactical priorities or a timeline for the coaching transition.
