Fortnite adds Yoruichi and Kisuke Urahara in second Bleach wave

Epic Games confirmed a second wave of the Fortnite and Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War collaboration, with Yoruichi Shihōin and Kisuke Urahara appearing in the Item Shop on Aug. 7 at 3:00 a.m. Kyiv time for a limited period.

The Yoruichi set will include a character skin, a cape back bling, the Shunryu Kokubyo Senki Arms pickaxe, a themed wrap and an emote. The Kisuke Urahara set will include a character skin, the Soul Candy back bling, the Benihime pickaxe and a themed wrap.

Epic also signaled a possible temporary return of the first-wave Bleach skins — Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Uryu Ishida and Orihime Inoue — though the studio did not provide timing or V-Bucks prices for any reissue. Epic has not disclosed V-Bucks prices for the new Yoruichi and Kisuke sets.

Community reaction to the Yoruichi reveal was mixed. Some users praised the preservation of the character’s original anime proportions and design. Other players compared the treatment of Yoruichi to earlier licensed characters whose Fortnite appearances were adjusted in a more subdued style, citing examples such as Cammy and Kitana.

Criticism focused on technical and visual details. Several community members pointed to eye animations they found unconvincing and said overall model execution did not match the quality of earlier anime crossovers. Discussions of the new content were active on community forums, where opinions varied between positive responses to faithfulness and concerns about animation and finish.

Fortnite first introduced Bleach characters in an earlier wave that brought central figures from the Thousand-Year Blood War arc into the game. Epic has previously released limited-time anime-themed cosmetics through the Item Shop, allowing players to buy individual skins and matching accessories with in-game currency during short windows.
