FlyQuest and Chinggis Warriors rise in VRS rankings

FlyQuest won the ANZC Locals Brisbane Season 2 LAN without losing a map. Led by Alistair “aliStair” Johnston, the Australian team beat madlikewizards and Abyssal in the group stage, then eliminated KZG and Ground Zero in the playoffs. FlyQuest defeated Abyssal again in the final to win $3,555.

The result moved FlyQuest into fifth place in the VRS ranking, above Lynn Vision and 5star. The team will compete at the DFRAG Logitech G Pro Series and DFRAG Invitational before the November 2 cutoff for Major invitations.

Seven teams from the region are separated by fewer than 130 VRS points while competing for five Major invitations. The group includes TYLOO, BC.Game, The MongolZ, Chinggis Warriors, FlyQuest, 5star and Lynn Vision.

In Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Chinggis Warriors defeated 5star 2-1 in the MESA Pro Series Fall final. 5star had won the teams’ opening-round match, but Chinggis Warriors advanced through the lower bracket before winning the rematch. The victory earned Chinggis Warriors $1,650, while 5star received $750.

Led by Sodbileg “cool4st” Batbaatar, Chinggis Warriors gained 171 VRS points, compared with 94 for 5star. Chinggis Warriors provisionally moved into fourth place in Asia and became Mongolia’s second-ranked team behind The MongolZ. 5star fell to sixth place, below the current Major invitation line.

NEXVOID finished third at the MESA event, followed by The Huns in fourth. 1337 and The Audacity shared fifth place. Chinggis Warriors are playing in the lower-bracket semifinals of ESL Challenger League Season 52 Asia-Pacific Cup 3. 5star’s next listed event is the $181,214 GLuck Moscow Cyber Games LAN, which will feature The Huns, HOTU and 1win.
