Falcons beat FURIA 2-1 in triple-OT at PGL Astana

Falcons defeated FURIA 2-1 at PGL Astana 2026 in a best-of-three played at Barys Arena, advancing to the semifinals. FURIA took Mirage, Falcons won Nuke in triple overtime and closed the series on Dust2 in double overtime.

Mirage, FURIA’s map pick, opened the series. Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin gave Falcons an early boost with a pistol four‑kill to start, but FURIA led 8-4 at half. Danil “molodoy” Golubenko and Yuri “yuurih” Santos combined for 26 first-half kills. In the second half, Nikola “NiKo” Kovač produced a three‑kill with an AK, but FURIA converted a 5v5 post-plant to win the map.

Nuke swung momentum toward Falcons. FURIA opened 6-2, then Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov raised the level with the AWP, finishing the first half with 15 frags and a 116 ADR. Falcons reached match point at 12-10 before FURIA forced overtime. The teams traded rounds through three extra sets; Falcons defended three series points, including a 2v4 retake, and closed Nuke in triple overtime.

Dust2 followed with multiple lead changes. Falcons fell behind 0-3, then René “TeSeS” Madsen produced a series of strong rounds to bring Falcons back. FURIA recovered to tie and pushed the match to overtime after Falcons lost a round to the clock at 11-11. Falcons escaped a FURIA series point in the first overtime set and secured the map in the second overtime.

Stat lines reflected the long series. For Falcons, kyousuke finished with 85 kills and a 1.30 rating, TeSeS had 68 kills and a 1.25 rating, and m0NESY recorded 77 kills with a 1.16 rating. NiKo ended with 63 kills and a 1.01 rating. For FURIA, Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato had 80 kills and a 1.18 rating, molodoy 76 kills and a 1.12 rating, and Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis 73 kills with a 1.08 rating. Falcon coach Finn “karrigan” Andersen posted 39 kills and 74 deaths with a 0.61 rating for the series.

Reflecting on the match, m0NESY described it as “a very hard game, I think one of the hardest games I’ve ever played in CS, in terms of overtimes. We played so many rounds. We just didn’t give up on Nuke. It was so important to keep a good mentality. It was nice to play.”
