Esports World Cup group draw puts two LCQ teams in Group A
Organizers seeded 32 teams into four groups using July Valve Regional Standings; Last Chance Qualifier entrants BIG and JiJieHao were drawn into Group A.
Organizers released the group stage draw for the Esports World Cup main event, seeding 32 teams into four groups of eight based on the July Valve Regional Standings. The draw was announced after the Last Chance Qualifier determined the final four teams for the $2 million tournament.
Two Last Chance Qualifier teams, BIG and JiJieHao, were placed in Group A. BIG ranked ahead of several teams that had received direct invites in the July standings, which affected its seeding and group assignment.
The group stage will run from Wednesday, August 12 through Sunday, August 16. Matches are double-elimination within each group. Opening matches are best-of-one and the remaining group matches are best-of-three. The top four teams from each group will advance to the playoffs.
Playoffs are scheduled for August 19–23, with the tournament concluding at the Accor Arena. The grand final at the Accor Arena will decide the champion and distribute the $2 million prize pool.
Organizers published the full list of teams in each group alongside the draw shortly after the Last Chance Qualifier finished.
