ESL plans player profiles, doc and fan upgrades for IEM Cologne
ESL will release three player profiles, a documentary on the 2022 Natus Vincere–FaZe final, a 10-minute season trailer and fan upgrades, Marc “Nix0n” Kristensen wrote on Reddit.
Marc “Nix0n” Winther Kristensen, ESL’s director of esports for Counter-Strike, posted on Reddit outlining content and fan-experience plans for the upcoming IEM Cologne Major. He wrote that ESL will publish three in-depth player profiles during the event, premiere a documentary revisiting the IEM Cologne 2022 grand final between Natus Vincere and FaZe, and release a 10-minute trailer compiling the season’s narratives on Monday.
Kristensen quoted the organizer’s description of the profiles as “three deep-dive player profiles on the stars of the tournament” and said the documentary focuses on what ESL called “the greatest series in CS history,” the 2022 Natus Vincere–FaZe final.
On the fan-experience side, the Reddit post said ESL will distribute LED wristbands to attendees and make merchandise purchase and pickup easier. The post also referenced additional, unspecified on-site enhancements intended for the event.
IEM Cologne is an ESL-run Counter-Strike Major that attracts top teams and large live audiences. The announced film, profiles and trailer are scheduled for release during the Major and will be available to viewers as ESL rolls out its content roadmap.
