ESIC Gives playN Lifetime Ban for Code of Conduct Breach
ESIC has imposed a lifetime ban on Palkovics “playN” Tamás, extending his three-year suspension over NOMERCY’s match-manipulation case after social media posts breached its code.
ESIC has imposed a lifetime ban on Palkovics “playN” Tamás after determining that his social media activity amounted to an egregious breach of its Code of Conduct.
The sanction extends the three-year suspension playN received in connection with sanctions against NOMERCY for match manipulation. ESIC determined that the posts appeared to display cash and other proceeds of financial crime, creating the appearance of improper conduct.
ESIC did not identify the specific post that led to the additional sanction. A now-deleted post attributed to playN appeared to show him holding a large amount of cash beside the caption, “2029 we back to Roman Imperium Cup.”
PlayN, 22, initially received a shorter ban than some of his NOMERCY teammates. ESIC cited his detailed responses, financial and communications records, continued cooperation with the investigation, youth and limited experience when setting the original penalty.
