EA Sports FC 26 adds World Cup mode ‘The World’s Game’

EA Sports FC 26 will get a free World Cup mode, ‘The World’s Game,’ on June 4, 2026, adding 48 licensed national teams and new stadiums.

EA will release a free World Cup-style mode for EA Sports FC 26 called ‘The World’s Game’ on June 4, 2026. The update adds 48 officially licensed national teams and new stadiums to increase match realism. The announcement appeared in a PlayStation Blog post tied to the June PlayStation Plus lineup and Days of Play promotion.

Electronic Arts and the game’s developers noted the mode will mirror the look and structure of the 2026 tournament but will not include official tournament branding or licensing. Because EA does not hold the tournament’s official rights, the mode will not be a fully authentic recreation.

The update raises the game’s national-team roster from 29 to 48 teams, an increase of 19 countries. It also introduces new stadiums, real-time international challenges for Manager Live Challenges, and new international ICONs and Heroes for Player Career mode. The PlayStation Blog post did not provide a full list of the 48 nations or detailed stadium names.

The World’s Game will be available as a free download for EA Sports FC 26 players on June 4, 2026.
