Deft reportedly set to return to LCK with Nongshim in 2027
Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu is reportedly set to return to the LCK with Nongshim RedForce in 2027 after completing two years of mandatory military service.
Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu is reportedly set to join Nongshim RedForce for the 2027 LCK season after two years away from professional League of Legends while completing his mandatory military service.
The veteran AD carry is expected to replace Nam “Diable” Dae-geun on Nongshim’s roster. Deft’s return had been anticipated after he completed his service, but his reported destination had not been expected.
Nongshim signed Diable earlier in 2026 after his former team benched him for disciplinary reasons. The organization is now reportedly preparing to part ways with the young player before the 2027 season.
The reported change follows Nongshim’s 2026 campaign, in which the team failed to qualify for the LCK playoffs.
Deft has competed at the highest level of League of Legends for more than a decade. He won the 2022 World Championship with DRX and has also won the Mid-Season Invitational, the LCK and the LPL during his career.
The 2027 season would mark Deft’s return to professional competition after a two-year absence. Diable’s next team has not been reported.
