Bwipo and Estral eliminated from CBLOL 2027 race

Estral Esports was eliminated from the CBLOL 2027 Promotion Tournament after losing 3-2 to KaBuM! Ilha das Lendas in the lower bracket on Tuesday. The result ended the team’s bid for the league’s Guest Team slot after an undefeated season in Brazil’s Tier 2 competition.

KaBuM won the first two games and moved within one victory of the grand final. Estral responded with two consecutive wins to force a deciding fifth game, but KaBuM won the decider and closed the series 3-2.

The teams met less than a month after Estral swept KaBuM 3-0 in the Circuito Desafiante final. Estral finished that tournament with a 19-0 record, going undefeated through the regular season and playoffs.

Estral opened the Promotion Tournament with a 3-0 win over 9z Globant. In the upper-bracket final, LOS defeated Estral 3-0 and sent the team to the lower bracket.

Estral CEO Jerry criticized the team in a post-match reaction. “At a loss for words, damn hahaha!!! The players choked. So embarrassing what happened today!” he wrote. Jerry added that he enjoyed the year and thanked supporters who followed the organization’s project in Brazil.

The loss ended Estral’s 2026 season and left the organization without a place in the CBLOL for 2027. Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau joined the roster for the second split and won the Circuito Desafiante in his first tournament with the team.

The former Fnatic and FlyQuest top laner has identified a return to Europe as one of his main goals for 2027. Bwipo has expressed interest in competing in the LEC while mid laner Caps remains active in the region, while leaving open the possibility of staying in Brazil if he does not return to Europe.

KaBuM will face LOS in the Promotion Tournament grand final on October 12. The winner will earn the CBLOL 2027 Guest Team slot. LOS has already beaten KaBuM 3-0 in the upper bracket and then defeated Estral by the same score.

The final is scheduled for two days after LOS competes in the CBLOL 2026 grand final on October 10. LOS has also qualified for Worlds 2026.
