BGMI 4.4 launches with Greek mythology mode, new powers

Krafton India began rolling out the BGMI 4.4 update on May 20, 2026, for Android and iOS devices. The Google Play Store release started at 06:30 IST with a 30 percent rollout, expanded to 50 percent at 09:30 IST and reached full availability at 11:30 IST. The Apple App Store received a full release at 11:30 IST and the APK was posted on the official website at 12:30 IST. Krafton announced the rollout is gradual, so availability may vary by user.

The 4.4 update introduces a Greek mythology-themed mode that overlays parts of Erangel with themed villages, giant statues and new points of interest. The mode includes references to figures from Greek myth and new visual elements that alter the appearance of existing locations.

Pochinki will offer special themed items tied to the update. Livik’s spawn island has been redesigned so players can explore the new setting before matches begin.

A competitive feature called Heroes Crown is included in the update. In Heroes Crown, squads must complete five separate trials to earn honor points; teams that perform best in those trials advance through the challenge.

The update also adds boss fights linked to the mythology content. Dedicated encounter zones will host stronger AI opponents that teams can defeat for in-game rewards.

Three new powers are available in matches. Heart of Fury grants a double dash that lets players close distance quickly. Spartan Flag generates a temporary protective shield around players. Wax Wings allow gliding or brief flight across certain areas. Krafton stated the abilities will change movement and engagement options on the map.

Erangel now includes Greek-style structures and statues integrated into the existing terrain. The map work aims to create new combat scenarios within familiar battlegrounds. Players should see the new mode, powers and map changes as the rollout completes across devices.
