BETBOOM reach Thunderpick World Championship final

BETBOOM defeated Falcons 5-13 on Anubis, 16-14 on Dust2 and 13-7 on Mirage to reach the Thunderpick World Championship final. The result ended Falcons’ run at the event and sent them into the third-place match against Aurora.

Falcons controlled Anubis after recovering from a lost pistol round. René “TeSeS” Madsen won an early clutch, while Nikola “NiKo” Kovač added a 1v2 clutch. Finn “karrigan” Andersen made several late-round kills as Falcons took an 8-4 halftime lead and won the map 13-5.

Falcons opened Dust2 with a 5-1 lead, but BETBOOM reduced the deficit to 7-5 by halftime. Falcons’ overextensions and dry swings allowed Kirill “Magnojez” Rodnov and Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko to help BETBOOM move ahead 12-9. Falcons recovered from a 1v3 clutch by Daniil “d1Ledez” Kustov to force overtime.

Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov opened overtime with an ace, and NiKo followed with three kills to put Falcons ahead 14-13. BETBOOM won the final three rounds, including two triple-kill rounds from Magnojez, to take Dust2 16-14.

Falcons won both pistol rounds on Mirage and led 4-1 early in the decider. BETBOOM then won seven consecutive rounds after taking a force-buy in the second half. The team closed the map 13-7 to complete the comeback.

Magnojez led the series with a 1.39 rating, 59 kills and a 75% KAST. Pavel “S1ren” Ogloblin had a 1.15 rating, while zorte and d1Ledez posted ratings of 1.08 and 1.05. Boombl4 finished with a 0.91 rating.

For Falcons, m0NESY recorded a team-high 1.14 rating and 55 kills. Karrigan had a 0.94 rating, NiKo had 44 kills and a 0.93 rating, and Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin finished with a 0.84 rating.

The final appearance is Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov’s first at an MVP-eligible event since PGL Major Antwerp 2022. BETBOOM will face FURIA on Oct. 18 at 15:00 local time. Falcons will meet Aurora in the third-place match at 11:30.
