BETBOOM beat Legacy 2-1 to reach the Thunderpick World Championship semifinals and secure a place in the event’s top four. The Russian team will face Falcons at 17:00 on Saturday, Oct. 17.

BETBOOM won Nuke 16-13, lost Dust2 13-11 and took Mirage 13-11 in the deciding map. The result gave the team 62 VRS points and secured its qualification for the next Major based on invite calculations.

Legacy took an 8-4 lead on the CT side of Nuke. A second-half pistol win extended the Brazilian team’s advantage to 10-4, but BETBOOM recovered, forced overtime and closed out the map.

Legacy again led on Dust2 and had four chances to finish the map. The team converted its final opportunity in the last round of regulation to level the series and force a decider.

Kirill “Magnojez” Rodnov led BETBOOM on Mirage with 25 kills, 104.5 ADR and a 1.58 rating. He produced a four-kill AWP round while defending the B site and won a one-on-one clutch that helped BETBOOM reach 10 rounds.

Bruno “latto” Rebelatto led Legacy’s scoreboard for the series with 55 kills, a 1.23 rating and 76.7 ADR. Santino “try” Rigal recorded 62 kills, the most in the match, but Legacy lost the deciding map.

BETBOOM previously beat Falcons at the IEM Cologne Major. The teams will meet again in the Thunderpick World Championship semifinal on Saturday.
