BBL sign MistR as Boye moves to bench
BBL have signed former Sashi player Mikkel “MistR” Thomsen, with Jonas “Boye” Østergaard moving to the bench.
BBL have signed former Sashi player Mikkel “MistR” Thomsen, replacing Jonas “Boye” Østergaard, who will remain with the organization as a benched player.
The 22-year-old Danish player joins BBL after leaving Sashi. He and Casper “Cabbi” Jensen were benched when Sashi replaced them with Australian players Tynan “TjP” Purtell and Jordan “Hatz” Bajic. The organization made the changes after switching to the Asian Valve Regional Standings region.
MistR later mutually parted ways with Sashi, which allowed him to leave what he described as a difficult situation.
The signing is BBL’s first roster change since the Turkish organization entered Counter-Strike by acquiring its current lineup. Team manager Derya Üçpınar noted MistR’s impact during his first practice sessions with the team.
“His impact was noticeable from the very first practice sessions, bringing a new level of energy and intensity to the team,” Üçpınar said. “We believe that overcoming the challenges he has faced will only make him stronger, and we’re excited to support him as he takes this next step with BBL. We’re building this project with long-term ambitions, and we’re confident that MistR will be an important part of what we aim to achieve.”
BBL are ranked 38th in the global VRS after reaching the semifinals of ROG JOURNEY Autumn. They defeated BC.Game in the playoffs.
Stake Pulse Beat III and DraculaN Season 7 will give BBL two more opportunities to earn Valve ranking points before the November 2 invitation cutoff for the Singapore Major. BBL will face Liquid in the opening round of Stake Pulse Beat III on October 13.
MistR joins Oliver “IceBerg” Berg, Jason “salazar” Salazar, Jamie “leakz” Bugge West Jensen and Nicky “NickyB” Bruhn in BBL’s active lineup. Kenni “wezx” Holmberg remains the coach.
