ARC Raiders China test adds PvE Rebellion and dual-boss maps

Embark Studios is testing a China-only ARC Raiders build that disables player damage by default in a new Rebellion Incident PvE mode and adds a dual-boss map option.

Embark Studios has begun first-wave testing in China of an adapted ARC Raiders build that adds a PvE-focused Rebellion Incident mode and new map modifiers. ARC Raiders originally launched in October 2025.

Rebellion Incident disables player damage by default, lowers enemy difficulty and increases resource drops. Any participant can trigger a rebellion; the initiating player is marked as a traitor with a red icon on the compass and map visible to the whole lobby for the remainder of the match.

Test files and local players have also identified a Dual Boss condition, listed in some places as King/Queen Mode, which appears to spawn two bosses-the Queen and the Matriarch-on the same map. References to a Safe Zone mode are present in the build but lack detail.

The test is confined to the Chinese build and began recently with a small group of local players exploring the adapted version and sharing screenshots and impressions on social platforms. The studio has not given a timetable for a broader rollout.

Local testers report Rebellion Incident encourages cooperation until a rebellion is triggered, when one player becomes the target. Reduced enemy challenge and more resources make the mode more forgiving for players focused on PvE.

Comments from players outside China who follow the test have been positive, noting the mode could appeal to groups that prefer lower PvP intensity in extraction-style matches.

ARC Raiders continues to appear in competitive events; NAVI finished fourth at PGS 2026 Circuit 2 – Series 2.

For now the Rebellion Incident and dual-boss references remain test features. Further information will depend on the outcome of the trials and any official announcements from the studio.
