Alliance upset FaZe at FISSURE Playground opener

Alliance defeated FaZe 2-0 in the opening round of FISSURE Playground 3 on Sept. 9, 2026. Alliance won Ancient 13-9 and Nuke 13-11 to complete the series sweep.

On Ancient, Russel ‘Twistzz’ Van Dulken recorded 26 kills, a 1.62 rating and roughly 100 average damage per round. FaZe lost the map 9-13.

On Nuke, Alliance opened with a 7-1 run. Jonatan ‘bobeksde’ Persson finished the match with a four-kill round in the final regulation round as Alliance closed Nuke 13-11.

Across the series, Simon ‘twist’ Eliasson went 39-23 with a 1.34 rating and Jonatan ‘bobeksde’ Persson went 40-30 with a 1.31 rating. Sean ‘eraa’ Knutsson was 33-24 with a 1.03 rating and Arvid ‘avid’ Åberg was 29-23 with a 1.03 rating. Markus ‘upE’ Johansson finished 24-29 with a 0.80 rating.

FaZe’s series totals included Russel ‘Twistzz’ Van Dulken at 38-30 with a 1.22 rating and 75.2 average damage per round. Jason ‘JBOEN’ Boe Nielsen was 28-33 (0.91), David ‘frozen’ Čerňanský was 24-36 (0.90), Ryan ‘Neityu’ Aubry was 21-34 (0.82) and Jakub ‘jcobbb’ Pietruszewski was 18-34 (0.76).

The match was Alliance’s first official win in nearly two months following an early BLAST Bounty elimination by Wildcard. The victory moved Alliance to No. 18 in the VRS standings ahead of Singapore Major qualification.

Alliance will play Legacy for a spot in the playoffs. FaZe drops to a lower-bracket elimination match against magic; a loss in that match will eliminate FaZe from the event.
