9z eliminate BETBOOM from ESL Pro League Season 24

9z defeated BETBOOM 13-8 on Dust2 and 13-9 on Mirage. The result ended BETBOOM’s run at the tournament and left 9z one series win from the bracket stage.

9z took control of Dust2 with a 9-3 lead on the T side. BETBOOM reduced the deficit after halftime, but 9z regained control and closed the map 13-8.

BETBOOM had difficulty stringing rounds together on Mirage. The Russian team used several 9z mistakes to reach five rounds before halftime. 9z improved after the side switch, with Franco “dgt” Garcia helping the team complete the 2-0 sweep.

Dgt led 9z with 36 kills, 20 deaths and a 1.36 rating. Matias “HUASOPEEK” Ibañez Hernandez recorded a 1.35 rating, while Luciano “luchov” Herrera had 39 kills. Daniil “d1Ledez” Kustov was BETBOOM’s highest-rated player at 1.05.

The win gave 9z 39 VRS points and moved the team to 12th place in the ranking. The Argentine team needs one more series win to reach the ESL Pro League Season 24 bracket stage.

In a post-match interview, BETBOOM captain Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov acknowledged that his team had not played at its best in Katowice and had been unable to improve during the series.

The result followed early exits for 9z at the Esports World Cup, BLAST Open Porto and FISSURE Playground 3 after the team won XSE Pro League Guangzhou. At ESL Pro League Season 24, 9z lost to Aurora, defeated TYLOO and then lost to Natus Vincere before beating BETBOOM.
