Zeus Declines HLE Renewal Offer Before Free Agency

Hanwha Life Esports top laner Choi “Zeus” Woo-je has reportedly rejected a renewal offer and plans to test his value in free agency.

Hanwha Life Esports top laner Choi “Zeus” Woo-je has reportedly rejected a contract renewal offer and plans to test his value when the League of Legends free-agent market opens.

Zeus is approaching two years with HLE after joining the organization at the end of 2024. The report follows a change of agent. He is expected to consider offers from other teams if he enters free agency.

HLE has not confirmed that Zeus will leave the roster. A team representative said, “We are continuously in discussions with the player [Zeus].”

Zeus joined HLE after winning back-to-back World Championships with T1. He helped HLE win the First Stand in 2025 and the Mid-Season Invitational in 2026. He was named MVP of the 2026 MSI final.

HLE’s 2026 season ended at the World Championship. The team was eliminated by Bilibili Gaming in the Swiss Stage after losses to Gen.G and Invictus Gaming. HLE entered the stage as the reigning MSI champion.

Zeus has played at the top level since his time with T1. If he enters free agency, teams will be able to negotiate with him once the signing period begins.
