Xelex adopts aggressive anchor role before Katowice

Adrian “xelex” Vincze says he is adopting a more aggressive anchor role as MOUZ resets after a poor StarSeries Fall. The team will compete at ESL Pro League in Katowice for VRS points.

Adrian “xelex” Vincze is moving toward a more aggressive role as MOUZ’s anchor ahead of the ESL Pro League event at Spodek Arena in Katowice. The team will seek VRS points at the tournament.

MOUZ exited early at StarSeries Fall after a loss to NRG and a single win over Natus Vincere. Xelex reflected that the squad has held open talks since Barcelona and completed a reset ahead of Katowice. “I’m not exactly sure what the issue was. We just didn’t, of course, show up in the best way that we should… We reset good from it, though, so this event should be better,” he reflected.

On his personal role, Xelex described a shift from being a top player in NXT to carving a clearer position at tier one. He highlighted aim as a strength and prefers taking aggressive positions rather than staying passive. “I like to push as an anchor a lot, be more aggressive,” he added, and said his identity as a player will continue to develop over the next year or two.

He is adapting to anchor duties across MOUZ’s map pool and said there is no map where he feels uncomfortable. Dust2 had been a particular challenge because he initially played B, but moving to Long has helped. He praised teammate PR’s daily work on the B site and pointed to steady improvement in practice. “Dust2 B site was not the best, but they are doing a great job working on it every single day,” he observed.

Xelex also addressed how opponents read individual players and how he reacts. When he spots predictable patterns he reviews recent matches and changes his approach. “As soon as I see that, I just switch up the things,” he explained, describing match review as part of his preparation.

He reviewed his recent form, noting improvement since BLAST Premier: Spring Final in Porto and a weaker showing at EWC. He said he has worked on the mental side of the game to avoid overthinking at big events and that his performances have begun to stabilize.

MOUZ arrives in Katowice with the objective of earning VRS points and improving on their Barcelona results. Xelex noted playing in the Spodek Arena would be his first time at the venue and that he is looking forward to the event.
