VALORANT Patch 13.06 Adds Warden Rifle and Competitive Overhaul

Riot Games released VALORANT Patch 13.06 on Sept. 22, adding the Warden rifle, a 16-player mode Gauntlet: Glitched, and competitive features including Performance Score and Accolades.

Riot Games released VALORANT Patch 13.06 worldwide on Sept. 22. The update introduces a new rifle, a limited-time mode called Gauntlet: Glitched, and several competitive and client changes.

The client interface merges the Home and Lobby screens into a single hub that shows events, missions, the active map pool and leaderboards. Global navigation has been updated to reduce visual clutter across menus. The Collection now highlights newly obtained cosmetics until a player views the Collection or ends the session.

Players can now enter the Range while queued for matchmaking when expected wait times are long enough. Certain modes remain ineligible from the Range, including Premier and modes that do not use Agent Select such as Deathmatch. Performance Score replaces Average Combat Score (ACS) as the post-match performance metric. The new score runs from 0–500 and will determine MVPs and scoreboard placement in Competitive, Unrated, Swiftplay and Premier. Riot plans future updates to the metric based on player feedback.

Accolades have been added to record standout performances tied to the Performance Score. Accolades begin tracking with this patch and record personal bests for the current Act and lifetime play going forward; historical matches are not counted. Accolades can be earned in Competitive and Premier and appear in the End of Game experience and the Competitive Hub. A Rank Legacy counter shows how many times a player has reached each rank during their Competitive career; each rank’s counter can increase once every three Acts. Demotions do not increment the counters.

The Career page has been redesigned and now includes a Competitive Hub. The Career page lists top agents, match history and current rank. The Competitive Hub provides an Act snapshot and dedicated pages for Accolades and Rank Legacy that are visible only to the account owner. Friends can still view an overview of Career and Competitive Hub information.

The End of Game screen has been revamped to consolidate performance, rewards and match details while highlighting MVPs and rank promotions. Gauntlet: Glitched is a 16-player mode with eight duos that allows drafting abilities from different agents and upgrading them as a match progresses.

Agent Mastery and progression have been added. Each agent now has Act levels, Lifetime levels and a Reward Track to show player experience with specific agents.

A new rifle called the Warden joins VALORANT’s arsenal at 2,900 credits, in the same price bracket as the Vandal and Phantom. Riot added a weapon called the Bandit earlier this year.

Riot reported that its anti-boosting measures have led to more than 90,000 account bans since July 20, averaging roughly 1,600 bans per day. Patch 13.06 also addresses multiple bug fixes, including truncated ultimate ability voiceovers, agents and possessable abilities not being flashed correctly under certain conditions, a Cypher Trapwire visual issue, and a previously fixed jiggle-peek exploit involving the Flex cosmetic. A visual bug affecting the Masterful Accolade threshold will be corrected in a future patch.

Riot plans additional updates in coming releases, including Map Rating in Patch 13.08 and Competitive Flex and Radiant experience updates in Patch 14.00.
