Team Liquid signs 17-year-old AWPer “Jorko” to roster

Team Liquid announced on Thursday that it has signed 17-year-old Bulgarian AWPer Georgi “Jorko” Mitev to the active roster, replacing Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak, who has been moved to the bench.

Jorko joins Liquid after five months with FOKUS. He averaged a 1.07 rating, won Urban Riga Open Season 3 and narrowly missed the playoffs at PGL Bucharest. Earlier in his career he moved in and out of CPH Wolves’ roster and featured on MOUZ NXT alongside Oldřich “PR” Nový and Adrian “xelex” Vincze.

Liquid made the roster change following a difficult run in 2026 that included several early group-stage exits and weak results at tier-two LAN events. The team qualified for the IEM Cologne Major but was eliminated in Stage 1 with a 2-3 record. The AWP role has been a recurring issue across multiple roster iterations.

Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak was signed in July 2024 with limited tier-one experience. He recorded strong performances in practice and a number of matches but did not reach consistent form during his tenure.

With ultimate moved to the bench, Liquid’s active roster lists Keith “NAF” Markovic, Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek, Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski, Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa and Georgi “Jorko” Mitev. Viktor “flashie” Tamás remains with the organisation and Bea continues as coach.

The organisation has been reported to target Johnny “JT” Theodosiou as a potential new in-game leader after posting among the lowest T-side win rates this year. The changes are part of Liquid’s preparations for the second competitive season.

At 17, Jorko is listed among top prospects. The signing announcement did not include any player or staff quotes.
