Spirit reach BLAST Open Porto semis with 2-0 win
Spirit beat FURIA 2-0 at BLAST Open Porto to reach the semi-finals. Danil “donk” Kryshkovets had 17 first-half kills on Ancient; Andrey “tN1R” Tatarinovich led on Cache.
Spirit beat FURIA 2-0 in a seeding match at BLAST Open Porto to advance to the semi-finals. The team won on Ancient and Cache to secure a place in the last four.
On Ancient, Danil “donk” Kryshkovets recorded 17 kills in the first half as Spirit built an early lead. The result extended Spirit’s winning run on Ancient to 13 consecutive victories dating back to March.
Donk entered the event with a 1.62 overall rating and a 1.86 rating on Terrorist side across six maps at the tournament. Spirit did not drop a map in the group stage and arrived at BLAST Open Porto after winning the Esports World Cup.
Cache was one-sided in Spirit’s favor. Andrey “tN1R” Tatarinovich executed a 1v2 Tec-9 clutch that helped Spirit open an 8-2 T-side lead. He finished Cache with 97 average damage per round (ADR).
FURIA’s match figures included Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis with 25 kills and 31 deaths, Yuri “yuurih” Santos with 25 kills and 30 deaths, Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo with 20 kills and 31 deaths, Danil “molodoy” Golubenko with 23 kills and 29 deaths, and Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato with 18 kills and 33 deaths.
Spirit will have four days off and play their semi-final on September 5. FURIA will regroup ahead of their next competitive match.
