Riot dev threatens bans after LoL booster ad

A Riot developer warned he would ban players after spotting a League of Legends account-boosting ad on X offering $10–$20 per game and claiming $10,000+ monthly.
Riot Games developer Drew Levin warned he would ban players who took part after spotting an account-boosting post on X. The post advertised paid services for League of Legends on the North American server and included claims about high monthly earnings.
The post, written in Portuguese by a user calling themselves ‘Little Peter’, requested challenger players to boost accounts at Diamond rank and above on NA. It listed pay of $10 per game in Diamond 4, $15 in Diamond 2, $20 in Diamond 1 and €31 for Master accounts at 0–200 LP, and said the poster preferred ex-professional players or one-trick players. The post added that ‘you can easily make 10k+ per month playing casually and up to 20k cracking the game.’
Levin replied directly to the post, writing ‘I’m going to ban everyone who does this, fair warning.’ The seller responded ‘I wanna see you find me.’ Levin then asked whether he should post the seller’s main account. The seller apologized, and the exchange ended with Levin posting a handshake emoji.
Account boosting, where higher-skilled players log into others’ accounts or play on their behalf to raise rank, violates Riot’s terms of service and can result in penalties including account bans. Riot investigates reported boosting and applies penalties when violations are confirmed.
Paid boosting services continue to operate across competitive titles. Sellers often advertise fixed per-game rates or packaged climbs, and some post large monthly-earning claims to attract participants. Similar services have been observed in other competitive online games.
