NiP and FaZe at risk after heavy XSE Pro League losses

On July 2 at XSE Pro League Guangzhou in China, Ninjas in Pyjamas and FaZe fell to 0-2 after decisive defeats. NiP lost 3-13 to Alliance and FaZe were beaten 6-13 by MIBR, leaving both teams with their tournament lives in jeopardy.

FaZe’s match on Ancient was shaped by Felipe “insani” Yuji, who recorded more than 110 average damage per round and a 1.65 rating as MIBR closed the map 13-6. Alliance’s Simon “twist” Eliasson produced a strong performance as Alliance finished 13-3 against Ninjas in Pyjamas. Both European organisations are competing in their first tournament following recent roster changes.

Organizers reported repeated delays and technical problems across the opening days of the event. Players from BetBoom posted that they discovered malicious software on their event PCs. Despite those issues, BetBoom won 13-11 over BIG on July 2.

Other results on July 2 saw EYEBALLERS beat 3DMAX 13-5, Nemesis defeat B8 13-10, TYLOO beat PARIVISION 13-5, Lynn Vision overcome Luminosity 13-8, and 9z top SINNERS 13-5. EYEBALLERS and Nemesis moved to positions where a single additional win would secure playoff qualification, and TYLOO advanced to a 2-0 pool.

Matches scheduled for July 3 include FaZe CS2 versus SINNERS and Ninjas in Pyjamas versus Luminosity; losses in those games would eliminate the two European squads. Nemesis faces BetBoom and EYEBALLERS meet TYLOO, with wins in those fixtures able to clinch playoff berths.

Insani’s statistical output came during a period of ongoing transfer rumours about the player; his performance at the event was recorded in match statistics.
