LYON secures final LCS spot for Worlds 2026

LYON clinched the final LCS berth for Worlds 2026 by defeating Shopify Rebellion in the LCS Split 3 playoffs. Shopify Rebellion reached the matchup after back-to-back 3-2 series wins over Sentinels and FlyQuest. The victory secures North America’s last spot at Worlds 2026, which will be held across multiple venues in the United States.

Earlier in the Split 3 bracket, LYON selected Cloud9 as an opponent but lost that series and moved to the lower bracket. Facing elimination, LYON needed a win against Shopify Rebellion to qualify for Worlds and delivered in the deciding match.

Across the series, LYON produced strong individual performances and controlled game decisions at key moments. The team won the final game to secure its place at the global tournament.

Seeding for North America remains undecided while the LCS Split 3 playoffs continue. The Grand Final is scheduled for October 4. LYON can still win the regional title and the region’s top seed at Worlds if it defeats Cloud9 and Team Liquid on its path to the final.

LYON finished third at MSI 2026, recording a win over G2 Esports and taking eventual champions Hanwha Life Esports to five games. Domestically, the roster won the LCS 2026 Lock-In and the LCS Spring 2026 titles. Worlds 2026 will give LYON the chance to compete in front of U.S. fans as one of North America’s representatives.
