Bowie also uses the nickname grumpygran1948 in some contexts, a nod to her birth year. She traces the moniker to a family joke and has stressed she is ‘not a grumpy gran.’
Her interest in Fortnite began in 2017 after watching her grandson play. She created her own account the following year and started streaming in 2018. Streaming has continued steadily since then, and she describes herself as ‘more of a Fortniter than a gamer.’
