Krimbo: ‘I had no doubts’ as NIP’s IGL

Karim ‘Krimbo’ Moussa took over as Ninjas in Pyjamas’ in-game leader and the team opened 1win Private Club Season 1 with a 2-0 win over 3DMAX in their opening match.

Moussa is on loan from BIG and previously called for BIG Academy. This event was his second LAN since he replaced Marco ‘Snappi’ Pfeiffer, who was moved to the bench.

The roster had about one and a half weeks of practice before the event and held a week-and-a-half bootcamp in Warsaw. Moussa acknowledged the lineup is still forming and said, ‘We don’t know each other fully yet. We accept that, but obviously we won’t say, ‘Okay, it’s okay to lose against this right now.’ We always still strive to win.’

Moussa described how talks with the club began months earlier and that assistant coach DuDe, a former teammate at BIG, encouraged him to consider the IGL role. He said the coaching staff gave him freedom to call how he wants and that he shares a similar tactical vision with coach Xizt and DuDe.

On tactics, Moussa said he wants to move NIP away from overly set, straightforward approaches and to give players more room to contribute ideas and take initiative. He noted that activating individual players through different default looks is part of his plan.

He can fill multiple roles when required, including anchor duties and mid-round activity. The lineup has seen other recent changes, with adamb joining after n0te’s earlier involvement.

The win leaves NIP 1-0 in the tournament, an event that may affect paths to the Singapore Major. Moussa said the IGL role carries responsibility and challenges but added he felt comfortable with the roster from the start and praised the team’s off-server chemistry.
