Invictus Gaming Reaches Worlds Semifinals With 3-1 Win

Invictus Gaming beat Top Esports 3-1 on Nov. 3 in Allen, Texas, reaching the Worlds 2026 semifinals and returning to the tournament’s top four for the first time since 2019.

Invictus Gaming became the first team to reach the League of Legends World Championship 2026 semifinals after defeating Top Esports in an all-LPL quarterfinal at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. The loss ended Top Esports’ tournament run.

Invictus Gaming took the first game after a jungle fight around the 15-minute mark. Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok used Teleport to join the fight on Gnar, helping IG gain control. The team built a lead of more than 10,000 gold before finishing the game.

Top Esports answered in the second game, which lasted about 47 minutes. Bai “369” Jia-Hao played Renekton and stopped IG from ending the game while defending the TES base. He took down two opponents, giving Top Esports an opening to level the series at 1-1.

Yan “Wei” Yang-Wei helped IG regain the lead in the third game while playing Jayce in the jungle. His contributions to several fights and plays put Invictus Gaming one win from the semifinals.

Wei played Naafiri in the fourth game. He applied pressure in the top lane, helped IG secure objectives and took part in the team’s Baron play. IG then won a fight near the dragon and destroyed the Top Esports Nexus to close the series.

The result gave Invictus Gaming its first Worlds semifinal appearance since 2019, when the team lost to FunPlus Phoenix. IG won the 2018 World Championship with TheShy and Song “Rookie” Eui-jin. Both players are back in the organization’s top-four lineup.

The Worlds 2026 quarterfinals are scheduled to continue on Nov. 4, when Gen.G faces LYON. The winner will play Invictus Gaming in the first semifinal on Nov. 7.
