HUASOPEEK MVP as 9z win XSE Pro League Guangzhou

Matias “HUASOPEEK” Ibañez Hernandez was named MVP after 9z won the XSE Pro League in Guangzhou in 2026. Organizers published the event’s EVPs and an all-star team. The title moved 9z up to sixth in the world rankings. HUASOPEEK became the first Chilean player to receive a medal in the event’s official awards.

HUASOPEEK led the tournament in several metrics. He recorded a 1.37 rating in map wins, delivered five standout playoff maps and posted a team-high 1.19 overall rating. HUASOPEEK outlined the team’s goals: “The team’s goal is to make playoffs at every tier S event and try to win a tournament. But above all we want to qualify to fight for the Major in Argentina and win it.”

The event EVPs placed HUASOPEEK first, followed by Franco “dgt” Garcia and Luciano “luchov” Herrera. Dgt produced a 1.22 rating in the playoffs and a 1.05 eco-adjusted kills-per-round-win, leading the scoreboard in the grand final. Luchov posted three-quarters of his maps above a 1.00 rating and recorded a team-leading 1.19 rating on T side.

Other EVPs were David “frozen” Čerňanský for FaZe, Ivan “zweih” Gogin for PARIVISION, and Kirill “Magnojez” Rodnov for BetBoom. Frozen posted a 1.26 tournament rating and 1.23 in the playoffs, with a 1.06 eco-adjusted kills-per-round-win and a +2.23% round swing contribution. Zweih reached a 1.32 rating through the upper bracket and finished the event with a 1.01 KPRW, earning his third EVP of the year. Magnojez recorded a 1.44 tournament rating, 1.25 KPRW and a 1.55-rated group stage.

The all-star selection named Maximiliano “max” Gonzalez as the top in-game leader and included teammates luchov and HUASOPEEK. Jason “JBOEN” Boe Nielsen of FaZe was named to the all-star team ahead of TYLOO’s Ji “Jee” Dongkai in the AWPing slot. Honorable mentions listed players who had notable maps or series, including Vladislav “xiELO” Lysov, Vyacheslav “slaxejezzz” Vinokurov, Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, Jonatan “bobeksde” Persson, Daniil “Sdaim” Tupov and Felipe “insani” Yuji.

The event awards and rankings updates followed the conclusion of XSE Pro League Guangzhou. Teams and players will proceed to further tier S events and continue efforts to qualify for the Argentina Major.
