Matias “HUASOPEEK” Ibañez Hernandez was named the tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP) at XSE Pro League Guangzhou after leading 9z to its first international LAN trophy. 9z completed the event with a sweep of PARIVISION in the final in Guangzhou, China.
The Chilean rifler posted a tournament-high 1.19 rating and delivered multiple peak performances that contributed to 9z’s victories. In maps that 9z won he recorded a 1.37 rating, while teammates Franco “dgt” Garcia and Luciano “luchov” Herrera each posted a 1.22 rating in their winning maps.
Ivan “zweih” Gogin of PARIVISION was a leading candidate for the award before the final. The statistical output from 9z’s top three players across the event resulted in the MVP going to HUASOPEEK.
The tournament MVP is awarded based on player performance metrics and match influence. The recognition is HUASOPEEK’s first MVP at this level and concludes 9z’s run at the Guangzhou event.
