G2, Aurora and Magic clinch PGL Astana playoff spots

G2, Aurora and Magic secured the final playoff berths on the last day of the PGL Astana 2026 group stage in Astana. Upsets and decisive results on the concluding day determined the remaining teams advancing to the knockout rounds.

G2 defeated Monte in two maps, winning Ancient 13-2 and Dust2 13-4. The consecutive victories clinched G2’s place in the playoffs. The team made a roster change earlier in the event after the departure of Malbs.

Magic beat Gentle Mates in two maps, winning Mirage 13-5 and edging Inferno 16-13 to secure a playoff spot.

Aurora beat MongolZ in two close maps. MongolZ entered the day as slight favorites based on recent form, but two narrow losses eliminated them from the group stage.

The playoff bracket has since been published, with Aurora facing MOUZ, G2 facing Spirit, and magic facing 9z in the quarter-finals. The playoffs use a single-elimination format and award shares of the $1.6 million prize pool. The tournament field does not include Vitality.
