FURIA to Leave Mixed VALORANT Competition in 2027

FURIA will not field a mixed VALORANT roster in 2027 after missing selection for the next VCT Americas partnership cycle. Its Game Changers plans remain unconfirmed.

FURIA will leave mixed VALORANT competition in 2027 after it was not selected for the next VCT Americas partnership program. The Brazilian organization has not confirmed whether it will continue in Game Changers, the women’s and inclusive VALORANT circuit.

FURIA announced the decision on Friday, Oct. 30, after reviewing its future in the game. On Oct. 19, the organization confirmed that it had missed selection for the VCT 2027 partnership program and was considering whether to remain in competitive VALORANT.

All FURIA players and coaching staff will become free agents on Nov. 2. Arthur “artzin” Araujo, Luis Henrique “basic” Tessaro and Fabian “Shyy” Usnayo are among the players available to explore new opportunities. Head coach Ian “shaW” Jardim will also leave the organization. Gianfranco “koalanoob” Potestio and Corbin “C0M” Lee had already been cleared to seek other teams.

In a statement, FURIA described the decision as the result of its review of the competitive landscape and its future in VALORANT. “We’ve made the decision to step away from the mixed VALORANT competitive scene in 2027,” the organization said.

FURIA thanked its players, coaches, staff, partners and fans. The organization also left open the possibility of returning to mixed competition. “This isn’t goodbye. We’ll continue to follow the scene closely, and the door will always be open,” it said.

FURIA has not announced when it will provide an update on Game Changers. The organization entered the circuit in August 2026 after transferring its women’s Counter-Strike 2 roster to VALORANT.

FURIA began competing in VALORANT in 2021 and qualified for VALORANT Champions in 2021 and 2022. It became one of the original VCT Americas partner organizations in 2023, reaching the league playoffs and finishing sixth in its first season.

The team missed the playoffs in both VCT Americas stages in 2024. In 2025, it failed to win a group-stage match in either split and suffered 12 consecutive losses, the league’s longest losing streak at the time.

FURIA rebuilt its roster for the 2026 season and won VCT Americas Kickoff with a 3-2 victory over MIBR. The result sent FURIA to Masters Santiago, where it finished tied for seventh. The team was eliminated in the first lower-bracket round of both VCT Americas split playoffs and did not qualify for Champions 2026.
