Falcons rally from 2-9 to beat Lynn Vision, zonic praises mindset

Falcons trailed 2-9 on the Dust2 decider before winning against Lynn Vision in their BLAST Open Porto opener. Coach Danny ‘zonic’ Sørensen described the comeback as evidence of the team’s ability to recover under pressure.

The victory came after a difficult run following the team’s IEM Cologne Major title. Falcons lost online to 100 Thieves in BLAST Bounty Season 2 and were knocked out of the Esports World Cup in the quarter-finals by Legacy. Those results and several close matches against lower-ranked opponents have left the roster seeking consistency.

Zonic said the Dust2 turnaround was encouraging because it showed how the squad can respond when matches slip away. “I am actually happy, because I know how we can react in these situations,” he told reporters, and he added that the match highlighted weaknesses in individual form, communication and execution.

He pointed to recurring problems against teams that play without fear, noting the roster can become frustrated in those matchups. Zonic praised Lynn Vision for their approach and persistence during the series.

The coach described the current lineup as still settling in after the addition of veteran in-game leader Finn ‘karrigan’ Andersen. He suggested some players are still finding new personal goals after the Major, citing Maksim ‘kyousuke’ as an example of a player adjusting to the new stage in his career.

On preparation, zonic said Falcons will continue replay reviews on TeamSpeak and may add camera review to study player reactions and in-game dynamics. The work will focus on reducing emotional dips and tightening communication in pressure moments.

Falcons are scheduled to meet Legacy again. Zonic called the match an opportunity for immediate revenge but warned that Legacy have been playing strong Counter-Strike and are difficult to unsettle. “They can be super annoying to play against, and they are definitely not afraid of my players,” he said.

After Porto, the coach and players said a string of cleaner performances will be required for the team to turn Major success into consistent results this season.
