ESIC Suspends NOMERCY After $57K Multi-Bet
ESIC provisionally suspended NOMERCY and its players while investigating suspected integrity breaches tied to a $57,000 multi-bet and heavy losses at a Portugal LAN.
The Esports Integrity Commission has provisionally suspended NOMERCY and the team’s players while it investigates suspected integrity breaches tied to the Radio Popular Roman Imperium Cup VII, a tier-2 LAN held March 28 in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal.
On March 28, NOMERCY lost 13-0 to BetBoom, 13-3 to Sangal, and 13-1 to BESTIA and Wildcard, finishing at the bottom of their group.
A screenshot that circulated on social media showed a $57,000 multi-bet backing NOMERCY’s opponents with a -9.5 handicap across those matches; the wager’s potential payout was roughly $4.5 million. The tournament organizer confirmed the bookmaker voided the wager.
ESIC’s statement lists concerns including suspicious high-value betting patterns tied to match outcomes and round margins; in-game behavior that deviates from expected competitive standards, such as repeated low-percentage decisions and failures to convert advantageous positions; and contextual issues relating to team formation and participant history.
Investigators are examining the matches, betting records and player histories. No timeline has been provided for the inquiry, and ESIC has not announced any formal charges.
Oliver ‘kzy’ Heck, 35, is the most prominent name on NOMERCY. He previously competed for MOUZ, ALTERNATE aTTaX and Unicorns of Love in CS:GO and returned to competition with Permitta last year.
ESIC will cross-check betting data with round-by-round gameplay analysis and player movements as part of its review. The suspensions remain provisional until the commission reaches a final determination.
