Activision has set the Call of Duty League’s 2027 season for Dec. 4, 2026, through July 11, 2027, with four Majors, three online Minors and a new Boston franchise.

Activision has announced the Call of Duty League’s 2027 schedule and format changes. The season will begin Dec. 4, 2026, and conclude with Championship Weekend from July 8 to 11, 2027. The league will add M80 Boston as a new franchise team.

The season will use Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which is scheduled for release Oct. 23, 2026. The game will include new competitive maps and updated weapons.

The opening Kickoff Classic Tournament will run online from Dec. 4 to 13, 2026. CDL franchises will compete against leading North American Challengers teams in a Pro-Am format.

Major I will take place in Europe from Feb. 12 to 14, 2027. Activision has not announced the host city or venue.

Birmingham, United Kingdom, will host Major II from April 2 to 4 in partnership with tournament organizer DreamHack. The event will use a LAN Pro-Am format, with the top four Challengers teams entering the main competition.

Toronto KOI will host Major III in Toronto, Canada, from May 20 to 23. The event will introduce a revised format. The six lowest-ranked qualifying teams will enter a single-elimination play-in bracket. Two teams will advance to an eight-team, double-elimination main event.

Major IV will be held on the U.S. West Coast from June 18 to 20. It will feature the season’s second LAN Pro-Am tournament. Activision has not announced the venue.

Championship Weekend will run from July 8 to 11 and will be hosted by OpTic Texas. Activision has not provided a city for the event.

Three 16-team online Minor Tournaments will take place between the Majors. They will award CDL Points and include North American Challengers teams in single-elimination gauntlet competitions.

Official broadcasts will be available on YouTube and Twitch. The league will support official co-streaming watch parties.

The 2027 CDL season will not be the first professional competition for Modern Warfare 4. Monster Energy will host the Monster Energy Launch Invitational from Nov. 6 to 8, 2026. The tournament is scheduled to precede the CDL season and will be the first professional esports event for the game.
