Boombl4: BETBOOM once led Dust2 16-4; map unused for months

Kirill ‘Boombl4’ Mikhailov, BETBOOM’s in-game leader, stated the team once held a 16-4 lead on Dust2 but has not played the map in official matches for three months. He described the gap as ‘veto mind games’ where opponents use late vetoes to shape map choices.

BETBOOM returned to a full five-player roster after earlier lineup disruptions. The team has reached the playoffs in four of five notable events in 2026. The squad did not play official matches for three weeks before the current Swiss-format event, and the immediate aim at this tournament is to reach the playoffs and secure a Major slot.

Boombl4 explained that Dust2 and Inferno dropped from their recent map rotation because opponents sometimes veto maps at the last moment after seeing past results. He added that a large Dust2 lead in a previous match affected opponent choices and noted that a stretch of upcoming best-of-threes could alter the map slate again.

On individual maps, Boombl4 said Cache has become more comfortable for BETBOOM while Overpass and Vertigo still need work. He described Overpass as ‘a bad competition map, like Vertigo’ and said each map requires time for the team to adapt.

He addressed individual form and team dynamics, noting slumps can rotate between players and that a team approach helps cover uneven performances. Boombl4 linked the lack of recent official matches to difficulty showing top form. He acknowledged emotional reactions from Magnojez after mistakes and referenced a recent team-kill incident that affected morale.

BETBOOM faces several events over the next two months and plays Aurora next in a CS2 MR12 match. Boombl4 emphasized the need to keep playing, adapt to opponents’ map choices and accumulate experience to reach a higher competitive level.
