Alliance were eliminated from the FISSURE Playground 3 quarter-finals in Suzhou after a two‑map defeat by MIBR, ending their run in the single‑elimination stage. The series closed in two maps with MIBR controlling play on the arena stage.
Alliance advanced from the group stage with wins over FaZe, TYLOO and magic, collecting VRS points that moved the team to 15th in the VRS rankings.
Jonatan ‘bobeksde’ Persson joined Alliance recently. After the match he attributed the loss to a lack of initiative and confidence: “I don’t know if it was confidence or something else, but we lacked a lot of initiative, and I think it felt like we were just not ready to play.”
Persson said the squad’s main objective is qualifying for the Singapore Major and that the team had come to Suzhou hoping to win the tournament: “I think our goal is the Major. So we came here hoping for a win, and then everything else was a bonus pretty much.” He added that the team should focus on each event individually rather than fixating on the Major.
On smaller LAN events ahead, Persson pointed to experience from recent China tournaments as a reason for optimism, saying the roster “should have a pretty good shot at winning at least one of them.”
Persson described the roster and support structure as stable and noted outside help beyond coaching. He explained that Hawk handles analytical tasks and attends matches, while Pontus’s role during games is to calm players and keep them focused during pauses.
Alliance will compete in a series of smaller LAN events next as they pursue more VRS points and a path to the Singapore Major.
