Astralis top Group C to reach Stake Pulse Beat playoffs

Astralis finished first in Group C at Stake Pulse Beat III in Stockholm on Wednesday after beating Sashi 2-0 and HOTU 2-1.

The international lineup opened the event with a 2-0 win over Sashi, who recently changed their roster. Astralis then defeated HOTU in the winners’ match to secure first place without playing a deciding series.

Gytis “ryu” Glušauskas led Astralis in both matches. He recorded a 1.41 rating against Sashi and a 1.55 rating against HOTU, placing him second in the tournament rankings.

Astralis will have Thursday off before the playoffs begin Friday, October 16. HOTU are scheduled to face fnatic next in Group C, with the result determining their progress at the event.

The results followed Astralis’ roster rebuild one month before the Major. The organization benched in-game leader Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen and Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard after both entered the final months of their contracts. Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek and Nikita “cmtry” Samolotov joined the lineup.
