1win win Moscow Cyber Games, earn PGL Major invite

1win won the Moscow Cyber Games final to secure an invitation to Stage 2 of the PGL Major Singapore. HOTU needed a victory to guarantee an invitation, but finished second after losing to 1win.

HOTU recovered from an 8-4 deficit on Dust2 and tied the map at 11-11. 1win then won a B-site attack in the 23rd round and closed out the final.

HOTU remained in contention for the final European invitation after the event. Their chances depend in part on the result of FiRe Last Chance in Argentina. 100 Thieves will claim the invitation by winning that event.

fnatic also remained in contention. The European team ranked 18th in the region and needed 100 Thieves to fail, as well as a favorable recalculation based on opponents’ results. HOTU had previously defeated Wildcard, so a Wildcard win in Argentina would improve HOTU’s position in that recalculation. A victory for BESTIA or BARCA would make fnatic the most likely recipient of the invitation.

1win’s Artem “ArtFr0st” Kharitonov led the final with a 1.31 rating, followed by Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov at 1.25. Dmitry “mizu” Kondratev was HOTU’s top performer with a 1.28 rating. The other HOTU players finished below a 1.00 rating.

After the tournament, 1win had 1,598 ranking points and HOTU had 1,487.
