xertioN: MOUZ Deserves More Respect After Porto Run

Dorian “xertioN” Berman, MOUZ’s in-game leader, spoke to reporters at BLAST Open Porto media day at the Super Bock Arena after the team secured direct entry to the playoffs following a strong group-stage performance.

He described the group stage as “pretty smooth sailing” and highlighted the series against Falcons as a key test. MOUZ dropped the first map on Nuke but recovered to win Ancient and Inferno, and also recorded wins over 9z and Inner Circle.

On the Falcons match, he called the Nuke statistics “a bit of a disaster” and said small kills affected that map. He noted the team performed better on Ancient and Inferno and took pride in closing out the series.

xertioN praised younger players Adrian “xelex” Vincze and Oldřich “PR” Nový for their performances in Porto, saying their play provided a confidence boost. He described them as still in a feedback and development phase and said they are working daily to close the gap with the core members.

Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás drew specific mention. xertioN called him “by far the best teammate I have ever had,” and credited improved form to stronger team connections, personal well-being and support from the organisation’s sports psychologist. He also said his move into the in-game leader role helped position torzsi in clearer AWPer roles.

On MOUZ’s place among top teams, xertioN pointed to the BLAST title earlier this season, a quarterfinal run at EWC and the current guaranteed semi-final at Porto. “I think we are definitely one of the best teams in the world,” he added, and argued that community and analyst lists have underestimated his roster despite respect from opponents on the server.

Looking ahead to the semi-final, he said he would be comfortable facing either Vitality or FURIA. He described Vitality’s stand-in jL as adding a more aggressive element on CT and said FURIA can produce both weak and dominant performances. He referenced a loud match against FURIA at IEM Rio as a notable experience for the squad’s younger players.

xertioN framed the Porto result as a response to outside doubts and said the team intends to continue proving itself through match results rather than ranking lists.
