Vitality beat FUT 2-0 to claim last BLAST Porto playoff spot

Vitality defeated FUT 2-0 at BLAST Open Porto, winning Anubis 13-7 and Dust2 13-8 to claim the final playoff berth from Group B. The result completed Vitality’s lower-bracket run and eliminated FUT from the event.

Vitality entered the lower bracket after a 0-2 loss to Inner Circle earlier in the tournament. Justinas “jL” Lekavicius was playing as a stand-in for Vitality. The team had beaten 9z and Legacy in earlier lower-bracket matches before meeting FUT in the decider. FUT arrived at the event shortly after reaching the Esports World Cup final and had limited time to rest and prepare.

On Anubis, FUT opened with early control after Nikita “cmtry” Samolotov posted a triple kill and Dmytro “dem0n” Myroshnychenko and Džiugas “dziugss” Steponavičius pulled off a 3v5 to make it 4-2. Vitality responded when Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut converted a 1v3 clutch on an eco round to level the score by halftime. In the second half, Vitality’s attack capitalised on FUT’s aggressive CT peeks, with multi-kill rounds from jL, ZywOo and Dan “apEX” Madesclaire. Vitality closed Anubis 13-7.

Dust2 was more one-sided. Vitality led 9-3 at halftime as apEX produced several high-impact kills and ZywOo continued to limit FUT’s retake attempts. FUT won a pistol round and then four rounds in a row to narrow the gap, but two consecutive B-site attacks out of spawn were stopped by Robin “ropz” Kool and ZywOo, and Vitality finished Dust2 13-8.

Individual performances were notable: ZywOo provided consistent high-impact plays across both maps, apEX recorded decisive kills, jL produced multi-frag rounds on Anubis, and ropz made key defensive stops on Dust2. For FUT, cmtry had an early influence on Anubis but was unable to maintain that impact as the match continued.

The win sends Vitality into the BLAST Open Porto playoffs as the final qualifier from Group B. FUT exited the tournament after the loss.
