Virtus.pro Qualifies for Thunderpick, Enters VRS Top 30

Virtus.pro secured a spot at the $1M Thunderpick World Championship in Malta after winning the Closed Qualifier, beating FOKUS, HEROIC and HOTU and entering the VRS top 30.

Virtus.pro qualified for the Thunderpick World Championship, a $1,000,000 LAN event in Malta scheduled for October 14-18, after winning the Closed Qualifier. The team beat FOKUS, HEROIC and HOTU in the playoff bracket and swept HOTU in the final.

The qualifier run began with a 2-1 loss to K27 on Sept. 9. Virtus.pro responded with a 2-0 win over BESTIA on Sept. 10 and a 2-0 victory over K27 on Sept. 11 to reach the playoffs. In the knockout rounds they defeated FOKUS 2-1 on Sept. 12 and HEROIC 2-1 on Sept. 13 before the title match against HOTU.

The organization rebuilt the roster around four former academy players with coach Nikolay mir Bityukov. Prior to the rebuild the team fell below 100th on the VRS and did not play official events for several months. The reformed lineup returned in May and won MPKBK CIS LAN Season 5, finished runner-up at MPKBK CIS LAN Season 6 and at ESL Challenger League Season 52 Europe Cup 5, and reached the playoffs at the Esports World Cup Open Qualifier.

The Closed Qualifier result moved Virtus.pro into the top 30 of the VRS, improving their access to event ranking points and giving them a slim chance to qualify for PGL Major Singapore.

Individual statistics from the qualifier showed higher ratings for several players. Vadim tO0RO Arkov recorded a 1.30 rating, Vladimir b1st Krasikov a 1.24 rating and Aleksandr AquaRS Kovalev a 1.21 rating. Dias F0R3VER Kutubay and captain Nikolay mir Bityukov contributed to decisive rounds and in-game strategy across the series.

The Thunderpick World Championship will be Virtus.pro’s first major international LAN appearance since IEM Chengdu 2025. Results in Malta will add VRS points and influence the team’s qualification routes for upcoming global events.
