T1 could release three players after Champions 2026
T1 are reportedly set to release Meteor, Munchkin and DH after finishing fifth-sixth at VALORANT Champions 2026. The organization has not confirmed the departures.
T1 are reportedly planning to part ways with Kim “Meteor” Tae-oh, Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom and Kang “DH” Dong-ho ahead of the 2027 VALORANT season. The potential departures follow T1’s fifth-sixth-place finish at Champions 2026 in Shanghai, China, the team’s best result in the tournament’s history.
T1 have not officially announced the departures. Meteor and Munchkin’s contracts are due to expire in 2026, while DH is reportedly under contract through 2027.
Munchkin returned to T1 after two seasons with Gen.G and became the team’s in-game leader. Meteor also joined T1 after two seasons with Gen.G. He helped the team qualify for Champions, including through strong performances on Chamber.
T1 moved DH to its academy roster after Champions 2025. He returned to the starting lineup during Stage 2 of the 2026 season, but the team recorded two wins and two losses before restoring Kim “stax” Gu-taek to the starting five.
T1 are interested in retaining stax and Yu “BuZz” Byung-chul for the 2027 season. Both players are reportedly in talks with the organization. Ham “iZu” Woo-joo is already under contract through 2027.
T1 will continue competing in VCT Pacific after the roster changes. Riot Games selected the organization as one of eight Pacific partners for the 2027 and 2028 seasons. Gen.G, Paper Rex and ZETA DIVISION are among the other partnered teams.
