Spirit beat Luminosity 2-0 in the Esports World Cup 2026 Group A lower-bracket in Paris, taking Ancient 13-3 and Dust2 19-16. The win advances Spirit to the Group A lower-bracket semi-final, where they will face either BIG or G2 on Saturday. Luminosity finished last in the group and are eliminated.
Luminosity chose Ancient as their map pick, but Spirit established a large lead early and closed the map 13-3. Danil “donk” Kryshkovets produced several key clutch rounds on Ancient and finished the series with a team-high 1.60 rating, 47 kills and a 92.8 average damage per round.
Dust2 was more competitive. Luminosity won the CT pistol and led early, but Spirit drew level before halftime. The second half saw momentum swings for both sides. A triple from Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov with the AWP on the A site helped keep Spirit ahead in a critical round. Luminosity forced overtime and held two map points in the first OT, but Spirit recovered, forced a second OT and closed Dust2 19-16.
Statistical leaders for Spirit included donk (47-29, 92.8 ADR, 84% KAST, 1.60 rating) and sh1ro (37-23, 80.2 ADR, 88% KAST, 1.31 rating). Spirit entered the lower bracket after an opening-day best-of-one loss to JiJieHao. The victory over Luminosity keeps their Paris run alive and advances them deeper into Group A’s elimination bracket; a win in the lower-bracket semi-final would move them one match away from the playoff bracket. Luminosity exit the tournament without a group-stage win.
