Spirit reach Porto playoffs with 2-0 win over G2

Spirit beat G2 2-0 at the BLAST Studio in Copenhagen to secure a place in the BLAST Open Porto top-six playoffs. The Russian squad won Dust2 13-6 and Cache 13-9 and will travel to the Super Bock Arena in Porto for the playoff stage.

Spirit opened on their pick Dust2 and controlled the T side. After falling 0-3 they won six rounds in a row to lead 6-3, then added three rounds by elimination to go into the break 9-3. The team reached double digits after the changeover and closed the map 13-6, converting decisive gun rounds in the second half.

On Cache, Matúš “MATYS” Šimko began with a USP pistol triple for G2, but Spirit held the initiative and led 8-4 at halftime. Danil “donk” Kryshkovets followed the break by getting two kills through a smoke in mid and then completing a three-kill ace on B to make it 11-6. Spirit ran a counter-boost on mid that interrupted G2’s grenade setup and helped them reach match point at 12-7. They finished Cache 13-9 three rounds later.

Donk led Spirit with 31 kills and a 1.45 rating. Andrey “tN1R” Tatarinovich recorded 32 kills and Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov had 29. Boris “magixx” Vorobiev provided in-game leadership on Dust2 and Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotya contributed across both maps. For G2, MATYS’s pistol work stood out, but the team could not overturn Spirit’s mid- and late-round advantages.

G2’s loss was their first in Group A. They will face the winner of Natus Vincere versus paiN in the Group A lower-bracket semi-final on August 30, 2026, for a chance to reach the Super Bock Arena. Spirit remain in Copenhagen to play the winner of M80 versus FURIA in the Group A upper-bracket final on August 31, 2026; that match will determine seeding for Porto.
