Sentinels sign world champion brawk for 2027 VALORANT roster
Sentinels signed 2025 world champion and Champions MVP Brock “brawk” Somerhalder from NRG on Nov. 3, completing its five-player roster for the 2027 VCT season.
Sentinels announced the signing on Nov. 3, one day after adding Francis “OXY” Hoang from Cloud9. The additions followed the departures of Gurjiwan “Jerrwin” Gill and Jonah “JonahP” Pulice at the end of October.
The organization announced brawk’s arrival on X with the message, “Bringing out the big guns. World Champ @brawk is officially a Sentinel.”
Brawk joins Mohamed Amine “johnqt” Ouarid, Yassin “Reduxx” Aboulalazm, Gabriel “cortezia” Cortez and OXY. OXY is expected to play duelist, while brawk joins as an initiator.
Brawk reached the top level of North American VALORANT with Moist x Shopify and Shopify Rebellion Black before joining NRG in February 2025. He helped NRG win VALORANT Champions Paris later that year after a 3-2 victory over Fnatic in the grand final. Brawk received the tournament’s MVP award.
The player became known for his Sova performances and use of the Odin. NRG finished third at Masters Santiago in 2026, placed second at the Esports World Cup and reached the playoffs at Champions Shanghai. Its title defense ended in fifth-sixth place after losses to LOUD and 100 Thieves.
Sentinels failed to qualify for Masters Santiago, Masters London or Champions Shanghai in 2026. The team finished ninth-10th at VCT Americas Kickoff and Stage 1, then lost 2-0 to KRÜ Esports in the Stage 2 Play-Ins on Aug. 22.
Sentinels remains one of eight VCT Americas partner organizations for the 2027-28 cycle. Its completed roster will compete in the 2027 VCT Americas season.
