Sacy reportedly set to coach T1 for VCT 2027

Former VALORANT world champion Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi is reportedly set to become T1’s head coach for VCT Pacific in 2027. T1 has not confirmed the appointment.

Former VALORANT world champion Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi is reportedly set to become T1’s head coach for the 2027 VCT Pacific season, more than two years after retiring as a professional player. T1 has not confirmed the appointment.

The reported coaching change comes as T1 rebuilds its roster and staff. On Nov. 2, the organization announced the departures of head coach Kim “KDG” Dong-gun, assistant coach Lee “CheongGak” Il-ho and players Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom, Kim “Meteor” Tae-oh and Kang “DH” Dong-ho.

T1 reached the VALORANT Champions playoffs for the first time in 2026 and finished fifth to sixth in Shanghai. The team entered the offseason without a head coach.

The reported roster changes would reunite Sacy with Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, his former Sentinels teammate. TenZ is reportedly preparing to return to professional competition after working as a content creator. Former NRG player Austin “crashies” Roberts is also expected to join T1. Their additions would bring North American players to a roster that has been made up exclusively of Korean players in recent seasons.

Ham “iZu” Woo-joo remains under contract for 2027. T1 is discussing possible contract extensions with Yu “BuZz” Byung-chul and Kim “stax” Gu-taek. The organization has not announced its final roster.

The reported position would be Sacy’s first publicly known coaching job in the VCT. After retiring, he discussed coaching in interviews in December 2025 and September 2026. He described people management as an area he would need to develop and said he would consider coaching if the right opportunity became available.

Sacy retired from professional VALORANT on Sept. 15, 2024, shortly after Sentinels finished fourth at VALORANT Champions Seoul. He later focused on content creation and co-streaming competitive matches. In March 2025, he joined Brazilian organization MIBR as a content creator.

Before VALORANT, Sacy played League of Legends and won Brazil’s CBLOL with RED Canids in 2017. He switched to VALORANT in 2020 and became one of Brazil’s leading initiator players. With Team Vikings, he qualified for Masters Reykjavík in 2021, VALORANT’s first international LAN event, and represented Brazil at the inaugural Champions tournament later that year.

Sacy won his first world championship with LOUD in 2022. LOUD reached the Masters Reykjavík final before defeating OpTic Gaming 3-1 in the VALORANT Champions Istanbul final. The result made LOUD the first Brazilian organization to win the game’s world championship.

After the 2022 season, Sacy and Felipe “pANcada” Luna left LOUD for Sentinels. Sacy then began playing alongside TenZ. Sentinels failed to qualify for Masters or Champions in 2023, but won VCT Americas Kickoff and Masters Madrid in 2024. The team defeated Gen.G 3-2 in the Madrid final, giving Sacy his second major international title.

Sacy was selected to represent Brazil at the Esports Nations Cup with former LOUD teammates Erick “aspas” Santos and Felipe “Less” Basso. The tournament was postponed from November 2026 to November 2027 on Aug. 18. Sacy later said he would not return as a player for Brazil, while leaving open the possibility of joining the team as a coach or staff member.
