PUBG Mobile 4.4 launches May 12 with Ancient Greek mode

PUBG Mobile will release update 4.4 on May 12, 2026, with a staged rollout starting at about 7 AM IST. The update will reach Android and iOS devices through their app stores; Android users can install official APK files if they prefer side-loading.

The main addition is an Ancient Greek-themed mode that places squads into specially designed map areas inspired by Greek mythology. Teams complete trials placed around the map to earn “Glory” points. Squads that collect enough Glory can advance to designated Crown areas to contest control of the Crown against other teams.

Completing trials unlocks the Sacred Fire system, which grants temporary abilities. The powers include a winged flight that provides vertical repositioning, a high-speed dash for rapid engagement or evasion, and a flag ability intended to aid squad coordination during Crown fights. These abilities change movement options and combat tempo compared with standard modes.

A Centaur boss will appear in two variants, Light and Dark. The Centaur is tied to the Crown objectives; squads that defeat the boss gain an advantage in Crown encounters. Narrative elements will reveal the Centaur’s backstory over the season and will be integrated into mode progression and rewards.

The mode emphasizes squad strategy. Teams must balance completing trials, managing Sacred Fire abilities, and timing their push for Crown areas while contesting other squads and the Centaur boss. Crown fights are designed for coordinated team play.

The rollout may take several hours to reach all regions and devices. To update, Android users can open Google Play, search for PUBG Mobile and tap Update; iPhone and iPad users can update through the App Store. After installation, players can launch the game to access the new mode and boss encounters.

PUBG Mobile has continued to introduce seasonal modes and in-game events. The 4.4 update delivers Ancient Greek-themed mechanics, new movement abilities and the Centaur boss to players worldwide when the staged release completes.
