Nuclear TigeRES eliminate 100 Thieves in StarSeries qualifier

Nuclear TigeRES eliminated 100 Thieves from the StarSeries Fall Europe qualifier with a 2-1 victory in Group D. The opening map, Ancient — Nuclear TigeRES’ pick — went to double overtime after 100 Thieves failed to convert three match points.

100 Thieves led Ancient 12-10 in regulation and later 15-14 in overtime but could not close the map. Nuclear TigeRES secured Ancient in double overtime. 100 Thieves won the second map, Mirage, to level the series, but Nuclear TigeRES took the Inferno decider.

Håvard “rain” Nygaard posted a 1.66 map rating on Mirage as 100 Thieves evened the score. Ilya “flouzer” Selifonov produced a decisive performance on Inferno for Nuclear TigeRES.

Series statistics showed flouzer with a 60-50 kill-death line, an average damage per round (ADR) of 84.7 and a 1.27 rating. Denis “m1QUSE” Karpovich finished 55-52 with an 83.9 ADR and a 1.17 rating. For 100 Thieves, Alex “poiii” Nyholm Sundgren ended 49-48 with a 75.0 ADR and a 1.13 rating; rain was 55-51 with a 72.0 ADR and a 1.05 rating; Nicolai “device” Reedtz recorded 52-48 with a 77.0 ADR and a 0.98 rating.

Earlier in the qualifiers, 100 Thieves lost their opener to Ninjas in Pyjamas and later defeated Falcons in BLAST Bounty Season 2 the same day. The loss to Nuclear TigeRES eliminates 100 Thieves from contention for a LAN spot at the StarSeries Fall event, which features invited teams and a $500,000 prize pool.

Nuclear TigeRES advance in Group D and remain in contention for a StarSeries Fall berth. 100 Thieves are eliminated from the qualifier and will not appear at the StarSeries Fall LAN.
